I love the design and weight of this jacket however it’s like a lint rage and pick up every stray bit of fluff, I’m constantly brushing it, I’ve never owned anything like it

The coat and service are great. I’m in my 50’s, 6’1”, and 190 lbs and bought a large 751.

There is still room to where a sweater underneath. The sleeves are a tad long and will need to be adjusted.

The only drawback is the color. It is basically black. The navy is very dark.

I’ve been wanting a nice pea coat for years now and finally decided to pull the trigger. After reading a bunch of reviews on different brands, I settled on Schott.

I originally ordered the classic 740 in size 34, but found it a little too boxy in the torso for my frame (5’7” 140lbs slim build, wear 36S in suits ) and a little heavier than I would like.as I was looking for a coat I can wear more frequently through the fall/winter months.

I easily exchanged the 740 for the 751 in small and it fits like a glove. Very comfortable in 30-40° weather with a light sweater underneath.

If you’re looking for a heavy coat to wear in below freezing temps and have extra room for thicker sweaters, get the 740, but the 751 is a perfect daily for those warmer winter days.

I am 5’9’’ 162 lbs. Coat size: L. I originally bought the M, but it was a little tight in the shoulders, so I upsized to a large. It’s a little long in the sleeve and body now, but I can always have it taken in. Shipping was very fast. All in all no issues - a great coat with a classic look.

I found that jacket in a store for 250$ brand new, what a steal! Im 5”10, 38 chest, 160 lbs, and medium fits perfect. I also tried the 32 oz peacoat in a small, fit was good but the slim fit looks way more polished. Its warm, even for canadian winters. Just get it!

Seriously. Stop shopping around and just buy this one. It is everything a Peacoat should be - warm, durable, functional, stylish - while not being overly heavy or cumbersome. I have worn this to outdoor events in cool fall weather and in snowy New England winters, comfortable in both. Stylish enough for an after-work happy hour and still in perfect condition after owning it for over 3 years and wearing all the time. Trust me, this is the one you want.

Well, wanted to take a moment to use the jacket before posting a review.

First, the jacket was WONDERFUL. Used it for a trip to Europe, got complements on the look of the jacket while in Paris, which shocked me as it is the fashion capital of the world. So that was wonderful to hear about the jacket I was wearing. Plus, the jacket was warm and helped to stop the wind.

Second, and the biggest, is the customer service. It took 4 orders and 2 different styles to get the right fit for me. Reached out to customer service, and Jerri was fabulous.

So overall, buy the jacket. Any of them to be honest. They look great, and if you have a problem, customer service will help.

Note - my wife purchased the women’s Peacoat as well, she absolutely LOVED it, and I mean loved it. She wore hers everyday of our trip.

The most amazing fit of any pea coat I've ever tried. I just wish they made it in the same thick 32 oz wool blend as the regular 740. Then it would be the most perfect winter coat ever made.

I originally ordered a small 751 based off of the fit guide. When I received it was just too tight. I contacted via chat over the weekend and received a response on Monday recommending a Medium and I was provided the dimensions. On Wednesday I downloaded the return form ordered a new jacket sent it out same day and received new jacket on Saturday. This jacket is a much better fit looks great awesome quality. I’ll be getting a leather from Schott next year highly recommend

I have the 740 in Navy, and I love it, but I wanted something a little less bulky in a different color. I was able to try a 751 on in person at the Schott store in NYC last year, but didn’t want to spend the money on one at the time. This year, Schott offered a 15% discount Thanksgiving week, so I bought it. I’m 5’7, 157lbs, and the M fits perfectly. The only thing I wish is that it had hand warmer pockets like the 740. I saw a review from last January that a reply from Schott that mentioned the 751 having hand warmer pockets, but the pockets in my 751 feels like a way thinner material than the pockets in my 740.

I bought the dark oxford grey and it is a good looking, versatile quality coat. It's a slim fit so unless you really are very slim you need to size up one size! I usually wear M (40) and the fit predictor insisted on size M, even when i told it i wanted a relaxed fit and had a belly! M was very tight on me but the L almost perfect, only the sleeves was about 5 cm too long but that's an easy fix! I'm 176 cm/74 kg/100 cm chest. I measured the coats (lying flat), as follows; M: chest 102 cm, shoulders 42 cm, outside sleeves 64 cm and lenght 83 cm. L: chest 112 cm, shoulders 46 cm, outside sleeves 65 cm and lenght 87 cm. The L also had much roomier sleeves. Since the coats are handmade there will be differences in measurements but ask customer care if you're not sure. By sizing up i also got room for a warm sweater which made the coat even more versatile, recommended.

I'm 5'10, 170lbs n athletic build. I exercise 3 days a week for the past 2 years. I got a medium n it fits great. They recommended a size small but I've never wore a small in my life. N that was the size chart algorithms anyway, it wasnt n actual person. A little tight on the armpit holes but I have a broad chest n it's not tight enough to send back or go up a size. I was gonna get the 740c with the leather trim n red lining but I wanted something more casual. I've ordered peacoats from 2 other companies this year that I've sent back. Schott was a great find! 10/10 would recomend.

This is a great peacoat and is the ideal weight for someone who does not live in the coldest climates.

Previously, I had owned a Sterlingwear Peacoat which I had bought because it was advertised as being made by the same people who make them for the US Navy. I found this coat to be too heavy and ill fitting.

The 751 is a slim cut and fits perfectly although I got an XL when I normally wear a L.. As with all Schott coats, the quality of materials and construction are without peer. The lighter material makes this much easier to wear than the Sterlingwear.

My only complaint is that on other peacoats I have owned, there is usually one or two internal buttons to help secure/close the coat in addition to the external buttons on the front. I always liked this nuanced feature and it is missing on the 751 model. Small issue, but so close to perfection!

I’ll preface this and say I very rarely write reviews— I save them for when a product or service really goes above or utterly below my standards or expectations.

I have a few Schott leathers (life customer on that end...) and I bought a 740 pea coat back in 2014 that was a go-to of mine for many years. The S size (at the time, the 740 is now sold in suit sizes I think) felt a bit too tight in the shoulders. I went with the M (I’m 5’7”, 150 lbs) and my ONLY issue was that it was a bit too wide in the midsection.

Fast forward to 2020 and I decided it was time for a new coat and went with the 751 size M. What a difference! Everything I loved of the 740 is there... and everything I less than loved is absent. I’ve been searching for the perfect pea coat my entire life, and I think I’ve finally found it.

Initially bought 740C size 32, however the leather trim made the arm look abnormally large (bulging) and the fit was looser than anticipated. Took a chance on 751 size xs, to my surprise the fit was narrower than size 32 740C. Exact measurement on the peacoat:
shoulder to shoulder 15.5in and pit to pit 36in.

This is a great jacket if you are on the slimmer side. I was at the Schott store in NYC and the L size fits me perfectly (I'm normally a 40R jacket size, 6'0" 180lbs). However, the 24oz material is substantially thinner than the 32oz material used in the 740N model, making the jacket more suitable as a light jacket or thick shirt than as a proper winter coat - although it might work during the winter during the day and if you are walking briskly to generate your own body heat. The regular 740N model was nice as well, the size 38 fit me well, however the arm sleeves were quite big and I definitely preferred the slim fit. Can't understand why the slim version is priced more than $100 more than the regular version when it uses less material. If this was priced the same as the regular version I would give it 5 stars.

This is hands-down the best peacoat I've ever owned! It's made of great material, the buttons are high-quality and are attached very sturdily, and it is VERY warm. The cotton lining both inside the coat itself AND inside the pockets (an awesome and very welcome touch) provides an incredible amount of warmth; I put my hands in the pockets and they instantly get warm, unlike the cold leather or suede-lined pockets of my old peacoat.
Also, as a guy who is on the small side (135lb, 5'7"), I appreciate that this coat isn't too long and isn't huge. I ordered a small and it fits like a glove.

That might also be my only minor complaint about this coat, though - it's so slim, particularly in the arms, that it's hard to wear anything more than a light sweater underneath. Personally, I've never needed anything heavier because this coat is so warm (even in 10-degree weather), but I did once try to layer a thick cardigan and my arms felt like they were squished and choked. It was wearable, but not pleasant.

That being said, this coat is exactly what it says it is: a high-quality, stylish, slim fit peacoat that I can't wait to wear for winters to come.

Very well made coat. The quality and workmanship is superb. This cost should last years. The slim fit is perfect for my son. I would highly recommend this classic pea coat..

I’m 5’8” 178lbs, and normally wear a 42R. I ordered a medium and It fit a little too snug to wear with more than a T-shirt with. The wool is lighter so probably better for fall than winter, but I like that there was no rear vent and the length is an inch shorter. The lining wasn’t as nice as the classic 740 which I previously returned in a size 40 because it was too large, but that one is more of an overcoat. I ended up exchanging this one for a size 42 in the 740C slim-fit leather trim peacoat. I was worried about the leather trim, but it is very subtle. This was the best fit of all but I may have it altered as i prefer it to be a little tighter even with a sweater underneath. The length is supposed to be the same as the 751, but it looks longer to me. All are very nice American-made peacoats, way better than anything I tried at department stores, it’s just a matter of finding the right fit.

I've been looking for a properly fitting peacot for ages. I'm 5.6 and slim and everything else so far was to too big and too bulky. This model fits perfectly and I love the slim look (I chose an XS)! It's also a bit softer than other brands and the lining looks super stylish and feels very comfortable. Great value for price as well, I've looked at similar models from luxury brands that were a lot more expensive.

I've always wanted a peacoat for as long as I can remember. I stumbled across this one about a year ago and i decided to finally pull the trigger on it. I'm 5'9" @185-190 lbs with a 38 1/4 chest. I chose a medium and I can officially say this peacoat is the most comfortable and the warmest jacket I own other than my Letterman I got when I was in high school. I fully recommend this wonderful jacket to anyone who is teetering on the fence. You will NOT regret your decision. I was a little bit concerned why this was more expensive than the heavier original one that is for sale on here. But either way. 5/5 would recommend this wonderful family heirloom. You won't have to get another one for years to come.

This is a great coat for me. 5’9 165 lbs and a med fits perfect with just a bit of room for a light sweater. I originally bought the Schott original pea coat but it was very heavy and bulky for me. I live in Ga so the weight of this jacket is more suited for 20-30 degree winters rather than northern winters. The grey color is a deep grey...very classic that can be dressy or looks great with jeans.

This jacket is just as described - the original in a lighter weight with a slimmer cut. With thinner and less material, for some reason it is over $100 more than the original (worth it, just a little odd). I purchased both to compare, but the California weather dictated I keep this one. I am a 38-40, and the medium fits perfectly. I still have a little room for a medium-weight sweater underneath.
